What is a proposal?
- Its purpose is to sell the idea.
- Used to gain funding.
- It has to explain the concept.
- Make a film sound interesting and exciting.
- Must be achievable.
What do I include?
- Your name, contact details and your company name.
- A working title for the project.
- The intented audience.
- Brief explanation of the concept.
- Brief description of the main sequences and characters.
- Names of any other major creative participants in the project.
- Any major technical or stylistic considerations (e.g. a particuler visual style, special effects, how sound will be employed, etc.)

Dear Sir
I have been working on an idea for a short film for some time. I now feel that it is at the stage where I should present it to someone from within the film industry so as to get feed back and hopefully input etc. The film idea is aimed 15-45 year old's but could be suitable for anyone who is 15 and above.
The Life of Tony Keys (In 10 minutes)
"Working title"
The film is about a man called Tony Key who is very rich, he wants to live his life quietly with his beautiful wife. All he wants to do is be happy and free but he can't because of his past haunts him.!
(In his past he used to be an assassin).
Tony has an idea that if he can create a drug to erase his memory he can escape the nightmares of his past life. He uses his wealth to develop his mind altering drug. After many years of hard work and research, he finally creates the drug / potion that will rid him of his evil. On a dark rainy night he takes the drug that he has invented ........ it does not work as he had hoped and instead of taking his worst side away.
The drug turns him into a mutated monster that is a control freak that wants to control where he lives which in this case is New York... So the battle begins as he fights and destroys all in his way.

A film along these lines will need a great deal of special effects as Tony changes into the monster. Plus as its set in New York a computerised / animated version of the city would be required and some large sets especial Tony's lab where he works to create the potion / drug. As most of the film would be set in Tony's lab, this could be done using a green screen and computer graphics as a background to reduce set build cost etc
Music and sound effects will be very important so as to set / create the atmosphere but most of this can be done on computer.
So all though a short film it could be costly if not managed correctly.
